About Symposium
“We who are Christians and propose to be philosophers must not rest content with being philosophers who happen, incidentally, to be Christians; we must strive to be Christian philosophers.”
—Alvin Plantinga
This is a blog for Calvin College’s student-led group, Philosophy Symposium—the weekly gathering of Calvin’s philosophy majors for their philosophical edification.
One of the main goals of Symposium is for the students to “spur one another on to good works” in philosophy by allowing them to present and receive feedback on their work. Symposium also allows our professors and other interested parties to address the philosophy majors. In addition to cataloging student involvement in Symposium, the blog will also serve to announce important events and opportunities related to philosophy at Calvin.
Philosophy Symposium meets every Wednesday at 4:00pm with the provision of refreshments.
